Iligan City - The City of Magestic Waterfalls
Here are some of the 20 something waterfalls around Iligan City.
Maria Cristina Falls Iligan's greatest heritage, it is the most resplendent among the city's 20 waterfalls. Also known as the "Mother of Industry" and "Fountain-head of Progress". It is 320 ft. high and veritable source of industrial life in the city.
Mimbalut Falls A not-so-high and mighty falls with a drop of approximately 90 ft. and is 18 ft. wide, but very alluring with its natural hewn pool of limpid water. It is a site to behold and provides a very enjoyable swimming spot, the water being fresh and cool.
Tinago Falls As literally implied, it is hidden in a deep ravine, the falls cascading beautifully into a basin-like pool, calm, deep and icy cold. It has an elevation of approximately 420 ft. My personal favorite of which I was awed by its prestine beauty. Some say, its called Tinago because each year it hide a visitor of the place for offering to the Gods or fairies of the place. But I was spared with its spell, if it were true :-).
Dodiongan Falls A 65.60 ft. high falls cascading down a concrete-like boulder. It's tranquil, cool water and lush vegetation makes it a real haven for nature lovers. The pool at the foot of
the falls is very ideal for swimming.Limunsudan Falls It has the claim of being the country's highest waterfalls. It is a beautiful two-tiered falls, the lower cascade alone is higher than the 320 ft. drop of Maria Cristina Falls.
